Screen readers

With so many recent advancements in assistive technology, there are plenty of options for blind and partially sighted people to choose from.

For those of you who just want to find a free screen reader that will enable you to use your computer, surf the internet or both, then you are in the right place. Whether you use a PC or a Mac, run Windows, OSX or Linux, there is something for everyone.

The R.N.I.B have summarised the most commonly used free screen readers to help you make an informed choice, but our experience with assistive technology has certainly taught us that the screen reader you choose will ultimately come down to personal preference, so you may have to try a few before you find the right fit.
